Any ideas for keeping off wood pigeons? I don't have problem squirrels. I made a kind of wide gauge chicken wire baffle for a while, but it wasn't strong enough long term.

    "Squirrel proof?" Hmm

    These pics are quite fun.

  • @Fairygirl, yes, I think you are right but it’s best if you tell if you manage it and everyone can have a go. When I heard that the grey squirrel is the cause of the demise of the red squirrel I didn’t feel so quilty when it fell off. Valerie

  • @valerieroberts Here is the photo taken through the kitchen window so not brilliant. We will paint it a brown colour to "blend" in. Some of the blurs are the birds moving around the feeders.

Indeed @valerieroberts - there are lots of threads of this kind offering the same solutions   :)
Those so called squirrel proof cages are useless - worse than useless @Fire. I'm surprised they're still allowed to sell them under the Trades Description Act! Any squirrel would be able to get inside them.  :D
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • @Fire I’m sorry I couldn’t see your pictures, but I can tell you that pigeons don’t get anything from this feeder. Valerie
  • @bertrand-mabel, that looks a great store of food for your birds. I have to fill up ours a lot. Valerie
