Hi
Im sure someone will be able to identify this cactus flower, ive tried using google images but im stumped.
Any help really appreciated as I need to add the name of the cactus to my images.
The best I can come up with is a fishhook cactus, but im not convinced.
Thanks

Looks more like a sempervivum flower.

    A type of sempervivum?

    Possibly Sempervivum tectorum

  • Yes it is a sempervivum. Unfortunately, when a rosette flowers it will then die, so you aren't going to have much left! They tend to produce more flowers when they are starved and dry, but more rosettes when they are fed and watered.

ah ok, so the cactus will die after flowering? wow, tough life. Whats the difference between a rosette and a flower, and I assume in my picture is a flower? Its in my front garden, been there for about 3 years

A rosette is a cluster of leaves, like in this photo. This eventually produces a flower stalk in the centre.

    P.S. Sempervivums are not cacti.

Sorry about that, all removed, bad habit.
And thanks for pointing out its not a cacti, obvious now you point it out.
