Hi, I planted my daffodil bulbs about two weeks ago. They had grown about an inch in the bag they were in. I know I left it a bit late. Will they still flower ok?

Thanks

Fred

I don't know but I hope so, Fred. I was given some bulbs at Christmas - don't ask! - so I have the same issue.

If they flower, it'll be later. Alternatively, they might do very little this year, but they should be fine next year  :)

As long as they were still firm, and viable, they should be ok. Even if you don't get much in the way of flowers, if you get some decent foliage on them, you can give them a little feed as they die back, and that helps the bulbs bulk up and stay healthy for future years too.

They were a little bit soft. Oops. Quite expensive as well. That will teach me.

Even if you get some thriving, they should multiply over time ,so don't give up hope. Fingers crossed for you.
