I planted about 40 privet plants two years ago around June ,last winter they were fine but this winter they have been losing most of there leaves some have lost all there leaves.I didn’t prune end of November like year before I’m hoping they’ll be fine but I’m worried I really should have pruned in November as the year before.Any a advice or reinsurance that they’ll be ok would be great.

It's not uncommon for privet to drop foliage - it isn't evergreen.
However, it mostly drops it in colder locations, but I've noticed it looking lousy in loads of gardens round here this year, and we haven't had any amount of 'usual' winter weather yet, so I reckon it's been down to the hideously hot, dry summer we had last year. Privet likes lots of rain.  :)

Privet is a semi-evergreen depending on conditions.
Assuming that the pants have not suffered from drought, they'll be fine
There's a very mature hedge just round the corner from me, some areas are completely bare, some have yellow leaves and some have green leaves.

  • Thanks for the reply’s nice people, it’s just very worrying watching them losing there leaves after taking care of them and seeing them doing so well past couple of years hopefully they’ll be fine. :)
