A new side gate - currently there is nothing.

Remove 3 tree stumps from the border against the back fence and then plant up - currently there is nothing :o

Create some kind of drainage system in the wet corner and then plant up - currently there is nothing :D

Reduce the number of plants without a home sitting in pots - currently there are hundreds!

That's before I start on the front garden @Uff :D

I'd like to construct something along these lines for the wheelie bins round the side of the house as well.

That looks good,  fortunately we don’t have wheelies just one black old fashioned dustbin and a bag for recycling.
Already I’m looking around the garden with plans,  I really don’t want to do anything expect keep the weeds down.  Someone sit on me please.😀
I am very lucky to have an OH who is willing to get his trusty mattock out at the drop of a hat and remove anything for me.😇. The creeping buttercups are so deep they need pickaxing!
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

  • Plan is to do something with a slightly sloped and very shaded raised bed (about 3m wide by 1.5m deep) just inside the main garden gate, ie the first thing you see when you come into the garden.
I got someone to quote for taking the small retaining wall back a few feet and build a nice contemporary style wall with bench built-in and new patio but the cost was far beyond my budget. I’ve tried digging the bed out myself but it’s more bother than it’s worth so back to coming up with a planting scheme. There is a large leylandii hedge behind it serving as a boundary which I don’t mind but I know will make the planting more challenging. Time to take some before photos!
Good luck with all your projects. 🌿🌺

My new project is one step further. I collected the wood as planned, it was wet through and frozen together so I rolled up the rug and put dust sheets down and brought it into the conservatory. It's drying nicely and by Sunday I hope to give it a couple of coats of wood preservative and by early next week I can start assembling the gate.
My granddaughter thinks I should extend the shed but it's warmer in here.

    Thank you plantminded.
Hah I see from the photograph that I've missed a bit that needs cutting off on the left hand side at the top of the fillet next to the gate.
