@Fairygirl. Same here even though down south, they flower late although they grow tall, I wouldn’t have liked them indoors until it was ready to plant out from an early sowing, but I think people have to try these methods, the only way as with anything, is to learn by your own mistakes.

Yes - they flowered until November here - it's the rough weather that destroys them far more than light autumnal frosts. Same with all sorts of annuals. Getting them to germinate was the hardest bit. I only grew them a couple of times, as I decided I didn't really like them, and I also preferred the buds to the flowers. They get massive if they have suitable conditions too - and very sprawly.
Indeed @Lyn - although I wish I'd had this forum when I started out. Would have saved a lot of disappointments and expense with trying to follow seed packet advice and G's World
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Read the seed packet, add another month here. Sow January to March means start of April. I find those Cobaea plants are all green and not much flower I don’t grow them now. Thought it may have been me but Google images show the same.

I agree @Lyn - the amount of flower to greenery ratio isn't great. I only grew the white ones, as I don't like blue, but I wondered if that was the reason. White plants are often less productive in the flower department. I had them on the screen between the two raised beds I have, but they were a bit disappointing. Just blanketed it with foliage, and the flowers weren't very visible most of the time. Sweet peas are far better value for money.
