Lyn, I just MIGHT be copying your example!!! Allotment boy cheap cooking brandy. Would be easier to get another tree. I wanted a miniature brandy for my Christmas cake
I wasn't paying £15 it would already be much cheaper to buy one. No one in my house hold drinks the stuff. I ended up using sherry, because I can use that up in trifles. You can get a bottle of "rubbing" alcohol in a pharmacy,MUCH cheaper!

@Nanny Beach. Rubbing alcohol...can you smoke  it?
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

  • What smoke onion skins, and blow the smoke on the plant!
I understand that you are joking, but I want to help with the problem and advise you to make an infusion of tobacco or onions and spray the plant. Systemic insecticides are not currently available for retail sale. Although that would help the best.

Lyn, please DONT it's highly flammable. Whose joking! Some folk on here swear by spraying a garlic infusion, but others say it doesn't work.nicotinoids in tobacco are extremely toxic.
  • 35 cl Brandy  in Sains<£7  you only need 1/2 an eggcup.  Wife uses it in some cakes! We have had the same bottle for years.
