    Obtaining a real tree and then recycling after Christmas when you have no transport was one of the main reasons we decided on an artificial tree.
    We also took into account the cost of a real tree every year (do we get it early and get a nice one or wait till the last minute for a cheaper one with less choice),the problems trying to put it up as each year it was a different size and shape,needle drop etc etc.
    The artificial tree cost £19.99 from B&Q 22 years ago and it still looks like new!
