What are these wriggling in my soil?

Are they goodies or baddies??  Do they need evicting?  Thanks for help!

    They could be leatherjackets, Daddy long leg babies. They can damage your lawn but birds like to eat them.

  • I think you're right @Busy-Lizzie, I think I'll remove, maybe put somewhere that birds may find them.
