The British Hosta Society have an excellent Facebook group.
Many members there sell " divisions " which should start fairly soon.

I’m happy to get bare roots or small plants to pot on. I don’t need fast results, I was looking for big varieties though and ones that do well and look good in shade.
You still got the bike Perki? I have a tiger 900 now.
Yes I still have the bike shame they stopped making them now. Tiger 900 is that the new tiger ? I could do with something I bit more upright alot of weight on the wrists with being in a advanced position, I don't fancy changing it though its a bit different to other daytona 675 and you can't go wrong with the triple engine.

Yes the new one, came out in 2020 I think. I had the 800 before it, but it had a few problems, all fixed in the 900. I couldn’t ride a sports bike, I need comfort!
The new tiger 1200 is just launching. OH fancies it, he has a bmw 1250 gsa at the moment.

I bought one of the big collections bare root, so I have plenty of plants, but I’ll also look out for recommended varieties from GC.
Just checking, as Posy advises above to pot up, but I can’t see that on JParker’s website, I think they are advising just plant out, and wilderbeast above does also.
I’m fine to pot up, but then should they still go out this year? I’ve got lots so I could try both ways actually.

Ah Hosta….I’m sorry I don’t do Facebook. I have so far avoided all offerings from the company, and social media in general. I know this website is social media but this is as far as I go.
  • @a1154 Krossa Regal is lovely it is a different shape to other hostas
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

You don't HAVE to pot them up - it's just that the plants you get online are often very small. There's nothing wrong with them but the open garden is a scary place. It's a bit like sending your toddler out to cross the main road. It may be fine, but there are many perils out there!
