@Allotment Boy The JVT lecture is repeated in the small hours so you can record that one.

You should be able to find them on iPlayer. Only Connect, certainly, and probably the others too @Allotment Boy
    In London. Keen but lazy.

My latest grumble, herbal and botanics, not gin sadly, but beauty products. I treated myself to a big store’ advent calendar’ , with 25 sample sizes of fancy creams and potions. However, with very few exceptions, they are mainly fragranced with herbal essences, and not particularly nice ones at that. What’s wrong with flowers? One expensive cleansing balm supposedly smelt like a classy spa! More like a petrol bomb in a candle factory in my opinion. Not keen. Hope this trend passes soon.

Tonight BBC1 Attenborough and the Mammoth graveyard.
Thanks for the reminder. I'm looking forward to that one. B)

If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
  • Thanks but OH has found the Attenborough prog is being repeated on new years day so we will be OK. The problem with iplayer is we can only get it on her tablet & the screen is a bit small.  It's just their schedule I'm grumpy about.

I think it could be a long night. The central heating boiler starting leaking this evening. We have emergency plumbing cover and they offered me an appointment on January 24th or, if I deemed it to be an emergency, sometime tonight within the next 12 hours. The drip has now stopped, but I’m not cancelling my slot because, if I do so, it will surely start again.

  • Oh good luck @BenCotto 🤞
hope they can sort it PDQ
ours did that last spring … we ended up with a new boiler in July. A PITA at the time but it seems to be much more efficient than our old one which is good, given what’s happening to prices.

Unfortunately none of the greener options seem viable for this house without vast expense. 😞

If your engineer is coming tonight I hope he/she’s not too late.
I’m sure it counts as an emergency, given your wife’s health.

Crikey it is potentially going to be a long night BenCotto, lets hope they will pull you in fairly quickly. Look on the bright side, you could spend the night zapping spammers on here.
