    As for Salop...

    It's not just difficult to say.  What is a 'Shrop'?  Herefordshire for example has Hereford Cattle, Gloucestershire has Double Gloucester cheese and Gloucester Old Spot pigs, Worcestershire has Worcester sauce.....  I haven't heard of a 'Shrop' anything.

    There used to be Shropshire butter in Sainsbury's in the days when they took a lump, whacked it with paddles and wrapped it with greaseproof paper.
