Shropshire...why is that so difficult to say, and when you do say it, it just sounds wrong?

It's not just difficult to say. What is a 'Shrop'? Herefordshire for example has Hereford Cattle, Gloucestershire has Double Gloucester cheese and Gloucester Old Spot pigs, Worcestershire has Worcester sauce..... I haven't heard of a 'Shrop' anything.
