How do you know its a Witch hazel and not a Parrotia ;) . I don't think they is any chance anybody other than a expert on that genus will be able to ID it . I bought a witch hazel this year jelena I don't remember the leaves going that vivid colour more just orange , I personally think its a Parrotia possibly persian spire

    Welcome to the forums!

Sorry. Impossible to say which one it is
There are Hamamelis sp and many named cultivars but most have leaves that look identical.
To id accurately needs clear pics of the flower...which can be golden, lemon yellow, red or orange...even then it is hard to be sure. Time the flowers open also comes into the equation.

Perki is correct it could very well be Parrotia persica.
Pics below are Parrotia....to show bark, flowers, leaves.
    Perthshire. SCOTLAND .

Athelas. I think you are probably right. I saw one with leaves like that at  Ashwood nursery, with a horrendous price tag as I remember.  I was very tempted. I left it.  I already needed a mortgage for the hellebores in the trolley.
  • The only reason I said witch hazel as it was featured on garden resue deeside show  and they said witch hazel
