I do the same as @Lyn. They just die back and come away quite easily. If it's something you see easily, and you don't like it, you can always cut them back just leaving short stumps, as @B3 says, so that you don't forget they're there. Or leave a marker of some kind.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
