Yes Dove. Thereโs been flooding for several days in many parts of NSW, with mandatory evacuations etc. No problems here though. Our river didnโt get any higher than the photos I took last week and itโs already dropped quite a lot.ย
There used to be confessions of a .......thread on here. Don't judge me too harshly kindly forkers. Have just done something I've never done before! Have made the Christmas cake, put it in the slo cooker,(on top of the washing machine) tiny kitchen. Needing to make sausage rolls and banana/fruit loaf. Rather than wash up my mixing bowls that I need next,I have put on the dishwasher,(it IS a full load.)my excuse,my hands are bad.i got up really early, went shopping at 7.45, gave the dogs a good run on the beach. Had to get hubby to mix the cake at the very end. Dishwasher at peek time, never happened before!
@raisingirl, Iย mentioned the other day, we had the opposite problem,ย like @Dovefromabove, we are on a fixed tariff and a monthly DD. Our balance was going up, when I checked they were only charging the standing charges not for energy used. When I look at the account on line all the readings & charges are shown. Couldn't get through on phone, on line chat they recon 5days to sort it out. ????
We had a lovely Christmas dinner. Don't think I'll need any more food before breakfast tomorrow.
Got home and read a French newspaper on Laptop to find that Macron has decided that anyone going to France from Saturday needs a travel antigen or PCR test, NHS won't do. No time for PCR, results take 48 hours. I've booked an antigen test for ยฃ40 at the airport. I wonder how many people will be stranded? I've informed an expat group on Facebook. The French government haven't even finished updating their website yet.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
@Allotment Boy One advantage of being on a business rather than a domestic tariff (there aren't many) is that it's easier to get someone to answer the phone, as a rule

Oh dear @Busy-Lizzie, I read that as well and thought you would already know. What a pain. Glad you enjoyed your Xmas meal out. It's a great shame that OH can't be with you at Xmas.
We've had a quiet day, not doing very much. Brilliant sunshine but quite cold and below freezing now, although rain is expected in the early hours. I cooked a beef casserole for a change tonight, very tasty.

We now have our Broadband back, but no TV .... we have to go out in a bit so there'll be no daytime viewing for us this afternoon anyway ๐
