I like Zamioculcas zamiifolia, the glossy leaves are quite something. Apparently care is needed when touching the leaves, but I have not had any kind of allergic reaction. I water mine roughly 2x a month in the growing seasons.
Sorry to witness the demise of the forum. 😥😥😥😡😡😡I am Spartacus
The dark red one is ZZ Raven really lovely. I saw it at a nursery and asked if it was as easy as the green. They suggested I went with the green as it was a new plant to me.
I also have four different Sanseverias also very easy, prefer dappled light but can cope with full sun or shade and hardly any water.Recently added a new one to my collection, it is only 8 inches high, a sold on sight moment. No idea what it's full name might be. They are all spiky so watch them at eye level.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
Humans have evolved via cave dwelling. We don't notice how dark our rooms are, even in a sunny window.
Why don't you leave your blind up a bit in the daytime? You can also buy specialised plant-growth spot lights.
I have never grown ZZ but I guess that every plant has a need to photosynthesise. I have grown ferns, moth orchids and mind-your-own business in dark corners. But I rotate them with a turn in a bright spot.
