Does anyone know what is growing on this tree it’s on all the trees in the area I live , is there something bad in the air?

    Hello Tracie. I am so sorry but your picture is not really clear enough to show anything. Would it be possible for you to take a close up picture of a smaller area?

    Yes it’s one of the many fascinating types of lichen. A sign of clean air and an important part of the ecology and not doing any harm to the tree. 


    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    or a rock at several thousand feet altitude
