Wrapping a palm for winter

Could anyone tell me how many layers of garden fleece I should wrap around the leaves of my windmill palm (Trachycarpus fortunei) to protect it from frost and winter winds?

Although I know these palms are hardy, I've been advised to protect the leaves during winter when the tree is young/newly planted.

    Depends where you live but this palm is very very hardy and doesn't need to be wrapped up.
    We have one that was a "christmas tree" many many years ago.
    Now it is a staggering 30ft in cold clay.
    We never do anything to it and it continues to produce fabulous fronds and flowers.

    Hi there

    Measured to the top of the leaves, the tree is about six or seven feet; measured to the top of the trunk it is about four feet.

    Not sure how old it is but I bought it at a similar trunk height, and it's been planted about six months.

    I live in the southeast but the tree is in an exposed area that is subject to northerly winds, hence my concern.
