I used to make hawthorn berry wine ... pounding those hips in a bucket I'll swear every one contained one hard stone (a lot like a cherry) but very little flesh ... less flesh than a cherry.

It seems to have several Seeds rather than a stone. I also found a few very old leaves clinging on if that helps with identification?
