Spectacular berriers

I have a Callicarpa which is about 10 yrs old. It has had a few berries each year which have disappeared quickly but this year it is thick with sparkling bright purple berries. Brilliant.

    Very sadly they do not do well up here...not hot enough maybe.
    I love Callicarpa.
    The best one I ever saw was in a very sheltered, sunny, hot area of a nurseryman who used it for propagation...see below

    Mine was swamped last year by the petunia Red Velour growing all over it - a compromise I was happy with - but this year it is showing well.

    One of my neighbours showed me her callicarpa this morning, absolutely smothered in berries - and I dug mine up earlier in the year!  I did however rescue it from the bin and replanted it on the verge outside our fence where, so far, it seems to have survived. It will have more room there to grow than I had in it's original spot so hopefully I might see berries again in a few year's time.

    Seems to have been a good year for them.

    I followed up on this post, but Ballyrobert Gardens in N Ireland don't stock it and I'm not prepared to trust a delivery from UK.  Shame, as the birds would enjoy the berries.

    Blackcaps excepted, birds tend to avoid callicarpa.

    Beech Grove sell it...but they are wholesale.
    If you explain they may bend the rules and sell you one./or tell you who may have one in stock.
