Morning Dove. Your son will appreciate new thermal clothes.

LB, indeed, I forgot to say that my second candle is lit. First candle represent hope, and second peace.

I was searching for paint roller and found one package of tulips bulbs. I somehow forgot to plant them. They already have sprouts.

  • Good morning ladies and Ante.  I slept well and have been up early.  I had an early night.  I was wrapping Christmas presents early this morning.  This year I bought recycled printed Kraft paper and it looks very nice.  I have just one present yet to wrap. I’m watching Beechgrove.  LB enjoy your outing with your sister.  Good to hear handy brother enjoyed his break in the Isle of Wight.  I had a trip there quite a few years ago. Ante we’ve had snow here but now it’s clear.  Debs I’m glad to hear your fiancé is feeling better. Have a good day everyone.
  • Busy it’s good to hear you arrived safely and managed to do some food shopping.  Lily I hope your throat is feeling better.

Sounds as if you and I have bought the same wrapping paper @bluebellsinthewild … hope Father  Christmas doesn’t get them muddled up 😲

  • Morning everyone, sorry for my absence. We had some sad news with my sisters MIL passing away and there’s an outbreak of Covid at school. The nativity plays have been cancelled, they can’t have the classes mixing and the parents are unable to come and see their children perform. Such a shame for all, but a necessary decision.
OH is still trying to get clear of his cold, mine has gone thankfully and we both have our boosters next week.
LB I’m glad you enjoyed your first session at the food bank, it’s heartening to know so many care enough to provide for those less fortunate. Enjoy your time with sis in Crewe today, safe journey,
Hazel Glad you had a lovely time with son & 23’s visit, he will be getting very excited now. Glad the arch has worked out as a good temporary support and your feathered friends have finally found your feeders very rewarding to see,
SGL Pleased your voice has returned, hope the cold doesn’t linger for too long and make you feel poorly, take care stay in the warm,
Busy Pleased you made it safely home with no problems on the way,
Bluebells You have been busy wrapping gifts, the paper sounds lovely such a good idea, your paws with claws description of Alfie made me smile,
Debs Hope fiancé gets on ok at work today and you hear from him soon, decorating your real tree will be something to look forward to,
Ante That was a beautiful picture of your snowy town, hope your lights arrive soon so you can get the decorating started,
Rubee I hope you get all your wet things done today, glad your snow has disappeared,
Dove Hope your son is wrapped up warm, the weather is particularly grim here today not the conditions for being outside,
    Have a good day everyone.

    Good morning all;
Thank you for the welcome back  :)

Humax box wouldn't work, may have said last night, which meant no English TV, no Strictly o . I rang OH and he said to unplug it and re-plug it. I looked at the wires behind the TV and there was such a tangle of them I gave up. Went back again and had another go and succeeded but Strictly had finished t2340 There had been a power cut, saw because of flashing alarm clock. Nothing has recorded since the 16th November. I saw most of what I'd set to record when I was in Norfolk.

I've got in logs and looked around the garden. It must have been cold as the dahlias have blackened, they hadn't in Norfolk. The birds had emptied the feeders of the 10 fat balls I left. Glad they found them, they had never been fed before. Patrick has raked up all the leaves, so kind of him, but he's put them on the grass that I was trying to grow on part of his old veg garden (it was too big for me) and also 2 huge piles on the mud patch bit of the donkey paddock that I was going to sow for a wild flower meadow. The ground is very wet.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    Morning all,

Looks surprisingly dry outside today. It sounded wet and wild overnight but Marti must've clocked off at some point. Forecast is ok so I better make the most of it. Still some bulbs to plant and the last couple of dahlia to get into 'storage' for the winter.

OH is currently awaiting the result of a Covid test. She learned that a work colleague has it so she did 3 quickie tests yesterday - 2 out of 3 were positive :( We've locked her in the spare bedroom and leave food on trays outside her cell :D

  • Hazel your mum has positive memories of Crewe and I wish too she could talk about times with you and memories.  Chive I’m so sorry to hear your sad news and also cancellations with regard to nativity and the disappointment for the young ones.  Stay strong, deep breaths and look after yourself.  It’s best that everyone involved with the nativity can be safe, although disappointing.  I hope the COVID outbreak soon passes and school can return to something near normal.  Dove 😄.

Good evening all. Firstly may I say how very sad I was to hear about your sister's MIL Chive. My condolences to all the family. I always think that losing a loved one at this time of year is particularly poignant. It is such a shame that the Nativity plays have had to be cancelled too - after all that initial excitement.
I've had a nice day today and the trip to Crewe went very well. My friend's bungalow is really nice - right across from the park where she likes to go walking and not really too far from her old house. The garden has some very nice shrubs in it - a camellia that is already showing colour in its flower buds - and I've told her its best to wait until next Spring to see if there are many bulbs already planted. As we were investigating round the garden, a little robin was following us around. I'm glad that she has a resident Robby as well.
Hazel, that was fascinating to hear about your Mum and her memories of Crewe and it was also nice to hear that the birds have moved into your garden. We told you they would
Busy, glad to hear you are getting settled once more. At least you will be able to watch the results of Strictly tonight now that you have the TV sorted. Patrick sounds a real gem. Have you heard how Caesar is?
Biglad, fingers crossed for a negative test for you. It will save you from all the ensuing harrassment.
Ante, you still have time to get your tulips planted. Good job you were looking for your paint roller? Shhhhhh! Hazel might be listening.
p.s. Sorry Dove, meant to say that I can totally understand your son's desire for thermal undies/outies! It was definitely Baltic first thing this morning.

    Good evening to all.

LB, I'm glad that you had a lovely time at Crew. I'll gladly give Hazel all my painting job because I hate to do that. I'll plant tulips in the pot this week.

I just finished with baking and can take a rest and watch tv. It will be some Christmas movie around 10pm so I'll retire for tonight.

    Good night and sweet dreams.
