  • I would also suggest making your own.  JI#3 is a loam (soil) based compost, so you wouldn't go far wrong with 50% topsoil, 20% grit, and 30% composted manure for a rich mix for hungry plants like clematis, or replace the bagged manure with a peat-free compost (or use a proportion of each) for less demanding plants.
    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
