Hanging baskets still in bloom!
Its mid November and my hanging baskets are still alive with fuschias and begonias (and I've still got Lillies in bud). The begonia flowers have dropped but the foliage looks ready to produce more and the fushuas are still in buds/flowers. Normally by now my baskets have been put in shed for wintering; is it OK to leave them out? Will mild frosts upset them and what temperatures are damaging? Help! I've lost too many before over winter for different reasons.

My dahlias, gaura, salvias and penstemons are all still flowering well atm (but I've had to water them frequently over the last couple of months due to no rain).
Next week it looks like it's going to get a lot cooler at night possibly with frosts.
If temps fall below 5C your plants (especially the begonias) may be at risk, so keep an eye on the forecast.

I note the overnight minimum here tonight is 2C so it's borderline for my dahlias.
Keep an eye on the overnight temps and bring your baskets in if it's going to be below about 5c overnight

I play with plants and soil and sometimes it's successful
