recommendations for a SERIOUS problem area please

I live in a semi detached house. There is a passageway between my house and my neighbour's house. From sunrise until noon it's shaded by my house, from noon until sunset it's shaded by my neighbour's house. Is there a (preferably scented) climbing plant (other than ivy, which I don't like) which would grow well in this location?

  • What would the plant be climbing on? I absolutely love climbing hydrangea, which I'm pretty sure is fine with full shade and is scented. It's just a beast and needs a very large, very strong space to climb on. Am gutted that my cheapo garden fence won't do!

Apart from Ivy, nothing will grow well in such shady areas.

How about some stencils of plants on your wall or decorative plant related tiles instead?
