Will bulbs push through 20mm gravel?

Hi I understand from online bulbs can push through 10mm gravel from what I can find. However some say not Cornish cobbles which are very big isn't a good idea. That's logical. However I have 20mm rounded gravel. Since at garden centres you tend to get the choice of 10mm basic gravel & 20mm it's a normal size but most people I expect have 10mm. So by chance have any of you come across this situation with the bigger gravel with bulbs underneath? I covered my whole garden everywhere with it so it's a bit of a silly situation but I'm disabled so don't want to get any weeds. 20mm is better I find for that purpose but bulbs might not appreciate it?

    It depends on the bulbs, and how thick a layer of gravel there is.  :)
    Things like lilies and most daffs will have no problem if it's a fairly lightweight layer - ie an inch or so. Any thicker might cause a problem though. 

    I also have large areas of gravel, but any bulbs are planted fairly clear of gravel, with just a thin layer over them. 
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    I put gravel on top of my bulb containers. Crocus, anemones, scilla, small daffs, species tulips etc all come up fine. I think its best to use the smallest though.
