Overcrowded leaves at the base of my young lavender?

I've just trimmed some of my windowsill herbs as certain bits were getting a bit long compared to the rest of the plant and I noticed that the base(where all the other bits shoot off from the main stem) is looking very overcrowded on one of my lavenders. Should I pull off some of the leaves or will it sort itself out? Thank you!

It looks like it has the makings of a good bushy plant to me :)

Thank you! I hope so :) I just had to cut long, and some long bits growing in an odd direction, off and I feel kind of mean 😅 I hope I didnt do any damage or do anything wrong 😣

That's the best thing you can do  :)
As @JennyJ says - that makes it bushier, which is what you want, not a straggly, lanky plant, especially when it's inside.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Thank you for the reassurance 😊

It'll be fine! Give it the brightest sunniest windowsill spot you have, if you're keeping it indoors for the winter.
