Jeyes Fluid

I have been reading the discussions about the use of Jeyes in the garden but it was quite a few years ago. Has anyone recently used Jeyes in their soil  to kill vine weevil or to 'cleanse the soil' after plants have had powdery mildew?

    welcome to the Forum.
I'd not use it on soil. It'll kill all the good things living it  and won't do anything to stop powdery mildew

  • I agree with @Hostafan1 … I would not use it on soil or around plants … it’ll kill off all the beneficial invertebrates that are so important to the health of your garden.
Powdery mildew usually affects plants that are, or that have been, stressed, usually by lack of water.

I use what l have left to clean around the greenhouse twice a year, but there's no way l would put it in the soil.
If you want to deal with vine weevil, l would advise using nematodes, although l think it's a bit late in the year now.
I think l'm right in saying that powdery mildew is more to do with the plant being stressed due to "atmospheric" conditions such as drought or too much rain, as opposed to the soil itself  :)
