Depending on the size, rat or mouse droppings. Without knowing the size I think they look more like mouse droppings.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Look like mouse droppings to me. Rats droppings are usually slightly curved ... not that it’s my specialist subject you understand

I should add that if they are seed size they are probably mouse, rats droppings are larger .. more like 1.5 - 2.5 cm long ....

Mice dropping smaller than a grain of long grain rice, rats much bigger. I would say by the shape they are from mice.
