4-5 years ago, as an impulse buy, I bought a packet of saffron crocusses whilst buying the usual speciosum.
This year for the first tme they have flowered.  Does anyone harvest the anthers and cook with them?

PS.  Both s and ss lookk wrong.
location: Surrey Hills, England, ex-woodland acidic sand.

Don't know about the cooking but I'd leave the s and the es off😊
    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • A friend in Cornwall has harvested her first crop this year. Only a few but she’s thrilled. 😎

  • I have planted saffron crocuses i bought in Gardeners’ world show in August and harvested them recently.I used a rich compost with a good drainage. I used a large but shallow pot .It was a lot easier than I thought. I certainly try more next year .
