Looked beautiful. Such a cheerful yellow and lovely foliage.

Be careful, it is not hardy.

Not totally hardy no, but it's survived for several years in Sheffield Botanical Gardens. So it may be a case of protecting it from winter wet rather than freezing temperatures. The one in the gardens is in the Mediterranean climate beds which are very gravelly & well drained.

It is described as far less hardy than that. I have seen them growing in the Southern Cape.

Thanks for information on hardiness. I hadn't thought about it.

It is growing in a front garden in the area where I live and good size so must be couple of years old.

If I find it to buy, I will take chance with hardiness and see how it goes. The main problem for me is to find a sunny spot in garden.

Honestly think you'll be fine in London. Work plenty of grit into your planting hole and hope we don't have another winter like last year  :)

One of the plants in Sheffield Botanical Gardens still flowering today after last weeks snow & freeze. But probably a different variety than the one shown by the OP.
