Adding bamboo to the front of a cedar hedge

I’m thinking of adding bamboo to the front of a cedar hedge that is about 35-40 ft. The reason is I have gaps in the hedge that are no longer private. Do you know what bamboo if any will grow well with cedar? That would grow tall, likes shade, low maintenance, and bushy?

    Not me, but one of my friends who lives in New York wants to add bamboo. He asks queries in our Whatsapp group and also contacts me to ask if you know of any forums relating to this, please post my question and see if anybody can provide better guidance.

    I think you’ve gathered enough information about bamboos,  how many thread have you opened now about growing it , setting fire to it, pouring diesel over it, 
    Try an American site if you still haven’t got enough information. 
    I doubt anyone on  here knows what grows in New York, Florida or any of the other places you’ve mentioned.

    We don’t have any knowledge of the soil, weather or climate in the various places that you mention. A cedar hedge is not something that is common here. I have never seen one. Cedars are grown as free standing specimen trees in this country.

    You would get more help by contacting an American forum.


    Thuja plicata, Western Red Cedar is a common hedge plant I'd suggest. Not a Cedar per se but that's what I assumed his hedge was made of

    I would t worry @cmarkr. This poster just starts threads about bamboo  then clears off,  there’ll probably be another one coming soon.
