Chillis are perennial so you should be able to leave them and with a bit of TLC including keeping them frost free, you can look forward to having an earlier crop of chillis next year. I think that most growers treat them as annuals.

Yes - cut off the dead branches to stop any further die back.  Leave the green ones and if you are lucky you will get it through the winter 🤞🏻

I think it just needs some light pruning.
If some branches are rather long, cut the branch back to just above some strong new shoots and those shoots will grow fresh branches that will flower and provide you with more chilies.
That will help rejuvenate your plants and keep you in a good supply of chillies.
You must have so many now - do you eat a bowlful of chilies for breakfast? 😁

Thanks tbh i could probably have done it with 1 chili plant, now i have 6 thai chili plants with 2 boxes full of chilies in the freezer more then i can eat, but il just keep stacking the freezer up.

i get kind off attached to the plants, i struggle with killing them and just keep expanding same with the basil, had to harvest half of it couple days ago, 35 basil plants was to much.

I confess I do the same.
I grow 5 chili plants every year and when I harvest them I take all the bags of last year's chilies out of the freezer and put them on the compost. I put the new chilies into the old bags and freeze them - and repeat every year - I never learn! 😂

its getting a small issue after i started with this grow hobby, i cant travel anywhere because the plants need watering to often, i cant kill them to start over again i rather want them to grow forever, even tho i have lots of dried seeds ready

i was thinking to buy some sort of irrigation system and connect a tank to it so i can travel longer distances and still be able to water the chili and basil.

But why not dry the chili youve got and grind it, make it into chili powder, i have alot of it from before. but its nice to have and add into food to give it a little bit of spicyness. fits to everything even potatoes, green apples and such. delicous to dip green apples in chili powder, Try it. The sweet sour flavour of the green apple neutralize the chili spicyness flavour making it into a sweet spicy flavour

We can become slaves to our plants!

I used to use a lot of chili years ago, but I guess my taste has changed over the years and I don't cook as much Asian food as I used to.
I could dry them, but I've got a small pack of ground chili in the cupboard that's been there for several years. I just need to be able to resist growing so many.

A neighbour gave me some apples the other day - I'll try an apple/chili dip when I build up the courage :)
