I am looking for a dwarf clumping bamboo

I live in Central Florida and I am looking for a dwarf clumping bamboo that I can plant in my front landscaping;it has asian theme. I need it to grow small (<8 ft) and it would be a small detail in the design. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks,

This is primarily a British site, @adnanaadi645y1i_yGxe, so posters may be unfamiliar with bamboos which would suit your climate and conditions.  However, we do have a few US posters from time to time so you might be lucky...   :)

Being from Utah, I am about as far (climatically) from Florida as possible.  Anything that does well in Cornwall should do great in Florida.. if Cornwall had a tropical monsoonal climate.

Most clumping bamboos are cool climate plants that wouldn’t cope with the high heat and humidity of Florida. One bamboo that meets your specifications in terms of height and climate would be multiplex ‘Riviereorum’  Even then, to keep it less than 8ft you would need to grow it in a container and give it plenty of space widthways, 6ft? to arch outwards. It would probably need afternoon shade.

If you don’t have that kind of space, there may be some ornamental grasses or other plants that would give you the right look, even if not normally associated with gardens from the asian continent. Best to ask for advice at your local nurseries.

I was going to suggest ornamental grasses as well because they can do well in dryer conditions but put up with the occasional downpour.
