Thank you so much for all of your replies. I am enjoying your recommendations and researching which I prefer. I have found it interesting that they can appear orange in some sites and yellow in others.
My Roald Dahl David Austin rose is yellow in hot weather and orange in colder times, so it's entirely possible to get a range of colours. My Lady of Shalott is always orange though. I highly recommend both of these roses!
Regarding colour, I have to say a lot of roses which are categorised as orange actually show colour ranging from apricot to orange depending on sun and temperature. Also they look more orange in photos than in real life. I have all the roses mentioned in this thread except Easy does it and I love them all for various reasons but Super Trouper is the only one which is bright true orange all the time.
I don’t detect much scent from Lady of Shallot either, but Lady Emma Hamilton’s is superb. I have Super Trouper too and it’s the closest I have got to a true orange rose. Most develop pronounced pink streaks and spots in hot weather, ST didn’t, although it did verge toward coral, so I’m thinking of moving it to a shadier position.
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
Any of these take your fancy? My yellow/oranges bed. Ive got westerland too, very pretty and Sheilas perfume, although mine has had bad black spot/ mildew recently. Rosa des cistertiens Crown princess margaritte
The trouble with those are they tend to go pink. This is the Sparkle colour ( pretty accurate) but it is a patio rose, new to me this year so not too many flowers, and attacked by sawflies this year. So I am hoping it recovers next year.
