    Unfortunately there aren't a lot of distinguishing features on that second tree, and the leaves in your photo are out of focus...  if pushed for a guess, I'd consider a hawthorn.  Not the common one, whose leaves are different; there's one called Crataegus persimilis 'Prunifolia' with leaves like that, and the bark looks right.  You'd expect thorns, though.  Does it have any berries?
