Ants and white fly

How do I kill the ants in my vegetable trough that I'm growing my carrots and spinach in, I've found the top of the carrots are covered in white fly and the ants are milking them, they have not touched the spinach but there are ants everywhere in the trough?

    Keep the soil damp … ants don’t like the wet.

    Our ants don't seem to mind the damp or wet, pulled some carrots this morning and they were covered with ants on the white fly.

    If the carrots are ready to pull I wouldn’t be too worried about it … the colder weather due any day now will finish them off. 😊

    That's the problem, it doesn't really get very cold here till January and often we are much warmer than the rest of the country, so things that should die, don't.

    But are the carrots still growing?  I doubt it ... the farmers will just be covering them against any possible frost damage and leaving them ... the whitefly will only be on the leaves which are serving no purpose now.
