You can even use old cutlery (table spoons and dinner forks) instead of trowels etc for tending plants in pots. They work just as well if not better.  Charity shops will have them.

I can't see that you'd need much at all if it's for a few pots. A hand trowel at most, and an old basin or sheet of plastic, as said , for putting on a table top is plenty for small plants. I often use an old basin outside if I'm just potting up a few seeds or cuttings, rather than the bigger potting tray.
You'd really only need secateurs if you had shrubs to prune. Old scissors, or snips at most, would be fine for most softer planting  :)

You say you live in a flat. Where will you be storing these tools? In the flat? How much space do you have? 🤔
    Hi,

Yeah I live in a flat. I would want equipment that fits in a small storage area or, ideally, within my kitchen pantry. I'm only thinking of gardening small pots in my balcony for the time being until circumstances change.

    Thanks,
You don’t *need* any tools to start gardening just get to it.  🙂. For comfort I would probably buy gloves and secateurs and a trowel.  These do not need to be high quality because they will get little use and be sheltered from the weather.

What plants do you plan to grow?

For climbers you will want stake or a trellis, for veg you might want a trough.

    Happy gardening!

Indeed @StephenSouthwest - the small pots the OP has stated they're using means very little is required to get some good results  :)
