The photos below were taken in a part of my son's garden which I had cleared for planting a month ago and left unattended. What are these self sown plants? Thanks in advance for your kind help.

Hmmm ... my first thought was Blue alkanet ... it's those little white bumps ...

Could be foxglove seedlings - but the spots on the leaves indicate possibly alkanet.
It the underside of the leaves feels soft and furry, it's foxgloves.
If it has coarse hairs - possibly alkanet (which you don't want)

  • Agree with Asarum and Dove.....it is those dots that give the clue

I started to dig up the roots, they're so fat/thick and they go all the way to Down Under.  :#

Make sure every trace is removed, will regrow from the smallest piece that's left.
