Plant identification

HI all fellow gardeners. Can anybody ID the plant for me next to my hydrangea please. It hasnt flowred this year. Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Thanks. I didnt think it was that as my other lord and ladies have different leave patterns

    I have never seen Arum italicum with such massive leaves.
    Shape is not right either.
    I cannot think what it is.

    Isn't Lords & Ladies Arum maculatum?  And anyway, it should have died down by now.

    My thought, with arum-type leaves of that size was that it's the big white flowered arum so beloved of florists in the 60/70s ... Zantedeschia? 

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

     Zantedeschia fits perfectly.

  • Thanks for the ID.. The plant hasnt produces any flowers yet. So I have that to look forward to.. Strangely my Lords and Ladies plants only come alive  this time of year under my trees not die off. Well their leaves do. No flowers or berries.
