Dahlia with no tubers

Do I still winterize dahlia roots the same way?

If it doesn't have any tubers it will need to be overwintered in a warm environment and kept growing throughout winter. Personally I'd get a new plant next year

Bit confused by the question,by roots not tubers. If it's a young plant,I would keep it in its pot overwinter some where frost free, did that with small plants bought bin Homebase end of season sale, the following year, they had nice big fat tubers. Hubby grew some from the free packet of seeds, they are only just flowering now,and I'm in a very mild area,(they're bin in the south facing front garden)

Is it one you've grown from seed this year @tbromkar-bjMXle?
If so, it will eventually form a tuber, but it would need grown on over winter somewhere frost free, in the pot it's in if it's suitable for it   :)

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
