Perspex v glass

Do people find that the perspex cold frame panes have the same qualities as glass, as regards heat and light?

    The best product for a cold frame is twin-walled polycarbonate - it's light, easily cut, widely available and cheap :)

    I've also always used 10mm thick 'twinwall' polycarbonate sheet for cold frames a as it is hundreds of times stronger than glass and is easy to work with.  My main frame still has the same top, even though I've had to replace some of the wooden sides which have rotted away during the 30 years it has been in place.
    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
