    Yes, you are correct Fairy,we had a bit of rain yesterday morning,got so excited! Not enough to get through the crust. I did go for wildflowers that are meant to be happy here. Ironically,the front ( obviously south facing haha) stoney rubbish soil but only 6 inches deep. Going for a Prairie look there!

    @Nanny Beach - it eventually stopped raining here last night. Had been on since Saturday afternoon. 
    Mostly smirr yesterday daytime though, but that counts as 'dry' here  ;)
    Some wildflowers are very adaptable though, and will cope with lots of variation once established. I used to quite like the Prairie look, but I rapidly discovered that it doesn't really suit the climate here. I think you need a big area for it to look good, and if you don't have that, and you're looking at it on a regular basis, there's a lot of empty ground for a large part of the year, and a lot of flattened plants at this time of year.
    As with so many plants, the situation has to be right.  :)

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
