  • I haven't been yet, though looking forward to being able to visit more in future. The GC probably suffers at present from low footfall, as the booking reduces the number of visitors and prevents people just popping in as they otherwise might.. Not sure how much custom they will derive  from their Salford location.

I don't think that's the issue - the indoor GC space is quite small so there's no way they can stock a decent range of tools and other sundry items, bulbs, seeds etc. The outdoor plant area is OK. The cafe and gift shop areas are big though so I guess they'll do well.
I will go back when I'm passing through the area as it's a good halfway stop on the way to or from my sister's house.

Think I have too high expectations with such gardens maybe I am just being a bit unfair , some bits like the Paradise garden I liked and the garden area near the exit . The rest of the garden seemed very uninspiring and quite a lot of missing / struggling plants , I didn't like the community area and the kitchen garden but that maybe is due to the time of the year.  I do have some photos if anyone interested .

I was underwhelmed when we visited in July & felt there was a lot of repetitive planting. Hopefully it will improve as it matures, but it’ll be a few years before I return.

yes I agree don't mind some repetition but to much it becomes boring, they played it to safe with the planting.  And the plants in the garden centre cost a fortune

I thought the plants at RHS Wisley were also expensive.
