Clay soil recommendation
in Plants
Hello, I’m looking for recommendations for some plants for my front garden - it’s quite a clay type soil, and north west facing but it does get quite a lot of late afternoon sun. Ideally would like something that is bee friendly and something that won’t grow too high as they will be in front of some trees in pots. I prefer English garden type plants, nothing too exotic. Any recommendations would be very welcome please!

I grow Acteas, Hydrangeas, Japanese anemones, Dicentra, Hellebores etc in that aspect. Lots more too.
It also depends on how wet or dry the soil is, ie has it been amended well enough or is it wet and sticky? Your local climate also affects the choices.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
