Brilliant! Thank you. I need a short path and most pavers are too heavy for me. I've ordered some from a French firm, I am in France. They look like irregular grey slate but are rubber. They have 5 star reviews.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
That sounds good @Busy-Lizzie, do let us know how you get on with them.
@Ergates - We've also got a convertible step-climbing sack truck as our sloping garden is mainly terraced and I thought it would make life easier. Trouble is that it's quite heavy itself so it sits in the shed most of the time! I'm pondering how to get a really big old concrete slab from halfway down the front garden up to the top of the garden where it's needed for another project but I suspect it will have to stay where it is. If it was flat ground, then I'd usually up-end it and walk it but it's not. Easier just to buy some new smaller slabs actually.
That’s all very helpful, thanks. The ones I saw only came in ‘earth’ brown, and I’d be looking for grey. I’ll check some other garden centres near here and see what they have. Would be good to hear what you think of your purchase, BusyLizzie. Lizzie27, ours is just the basic metal type with wheels, not too heavy. OH usually manhandles that, but I’m often called in to help if we’re going uphill. We had to move some biggish rocks, luckily they were on grass, so we used a big metal wrecking bar to lever them over, and painstakingly crawled them, one roll at a time, to where we wanted them. Although we have wide steps up to the front door, there is a concrete pathway round the other side of the house, so technically we should be able to use the trolley to get stuff up and down.
