Common Myrtle over winter

Hello all, quick question.
I have a common Myrtle tree potted in my patio. Will it be ok left out in a South Wales winter?

I've read a few things, ranging from it will endure up to -10 degrees to must be bought in a greenhouse (which I don't have by the way)

Thanks in advance for any help

I've had one in my Essex garden for many years.
It usually comes through winter without any problem, but the mini-beast from the east we had at the start of this year did cause a lot of frost damage. I cut that out and it's fine.
If you can move it somewhere sheltered where it wont get biting winds blowing through it I think it'll be ok - just somewhere to protect it from the worst of the winter weather

Ive got a little 3/4 year old one in a sheltered spot, its never dropped below -10 here but its quite happy in all weathers there, so I agree somewhere out of winter wind, maybe top up pot with some fresh mulch and should be fine.
  • Thanks for your help both, I did forget to say it's not that old, only about 40cm tall.

I can tuck it away in the corner behind a rosemary bush though for the winter.

Possibly sink the pot into the ground to protect the roots.
