Thanks for the interest Jenny. My original query was regarding automatic 'Favourites' access to this Forum via Explorer but, as of 5 mins ago, it's still frozen out and I have to crossover to Google. One 'Word' item I do miss is the much more sophisticated 'WordArt' range that allowed me to create more artistic items. Not a catastrophe.
There is still Wordart but I don't know if it's the same as in the older versions. Not something I use, because I'm not really the artistic type.
I can't help you with Internet Explorer and favourites, saved passwords etc - I switched to Firefox many moons ago on my windows laptops and I use Chrome on my tablet and phone (both Android). Edge is on my laptop as well but I don't much like it.

I just tried to get on here with Internet Explorer (turns out it's still there in Win10, but you have to search for it). The whole page locks up, I can't open anything, not the sign in dialog, not the discussions, nothing. Maybe the GW website just doesn't support IE any more.

Yes. You're all getting what I've got, but how on earth I'm going to transfer hundreds of files to a Chrome Book, some large and some small, with my (lack of) expertise I honestly haven't a clue.
Nick , I was in a similar predicament when I got rid of my laptop because of the security going up in price and brought an iPad, I took it to a local shop where the chap downloaded some programme and transferred everything to the iPad. He didn’t charge me.

Thanks, Lyn. I've explored that route but have been met with blank looks. The last one I spoke to promised to call during the second week in September and ...... It's an Irish phenomenon, say 'Yes' to everything, even if you've no intention of carrying it out. Nil desperandum.
Microsoft is of course not obsolete, but the Internet Explorer browser is, or soon will be, so you need to either start using Microsoft Edge or something else, like Google Chrome - if you're using a Chromebook then you will most definitely be directed to Chrome whenever you go online. Just load this page up, then top right are 3 dots, click those and about 6 down it says "Bookmarks", select that and then select to bookmark the page - it should then appear at the top of the page and you can just click it to get here (I am on a Chromebook too).
Re carrying over documents, I'd be inclined to not bother, because Microsoft and Google don't really work that well together - you can't really use Word on a Chromebook because it's made for Microsoft computers, you have to use Google Docs.
