Sugar Baby Melon

in Fruit & veg
Grew Sugar Baby Melon this year as well as my usual Emir, the Emir ripened as usual and the tell tail signs were the sweet aroma and the softness of the skin when pressing around the ends however as the Sugar Baby Melons showed neither of those signs I have been waiting for them to ripen, on doing an internet search it seems that in this variety of Melon the skin actually gets harder on ripening. I suppose my mistake has been that Emir is a Cantaloupe and Sugar Baby a water Melon, at one point I thought that I had gotten the seeds mixed up and had sown a pumpkin. Every day's a school day!
