Horsetail/marestail. It's been around since the dawn of time I'm afraid. There are many many threads about it, but it can be almost impossible to eradicate. In beds/borders, you can crush and apply weedkiller, but it's an ongoing task.
In a lawn, regular mowing is about all you can do.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Unfortunately, it's Horsetail, (Equisetum arvense) and almost impossible to eradicate. The roots can go down several metres. There are several threads about it - I'll try and find some for you and link them here in a mo.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
So no way I can remove it ....would you recommend just living with it? Shall I just keep pulling it out when I see it? Or is there something else that I should be doing.
Someone recommended 2,4 d amine to remove it. Would that be a waste of time?
I don't think there's a weedkiller in the world that would do more than weaken it. If you have it, most of your street has the roots too! In a lawn is almost easier as you can just keep mowing.
