Mites on viburnum

B3B3 Posts: 27,505
Loads of tiny green mites on my viburnum and the leaves have gone a metallic goldish colour. Seems a bit late to do much about it now. Will it be ok next year?

Sounds like Viburnum beetle - maybe?
Rethink - they mainly eat the foliage, don't they?

I don't think it's the beetle. They're like the ones you get on indoor plants @Fairygirl.

My sis had to hack back a mature viburnum a few years ago due to the beetle, but I thought she'd said the foliage had a sheen to it. I'm probably just mixing it up with something else.
They stink too, when they really get going on a shrub. She said it was dire   :/

I don't have any indoor plants any more.  :)

No smell just hundreds of little insects on the underside of the leaves.. It was fine last week! The blossom seems unaffected.
I'll leave it and hope for a hard winter to kill them.
